Finders Keepers offers bespoke workshops - both making (handbuilding) and painting -  for events, parties, and/or corporate!

Handbuilding:

Handbuilding allows people to make pottery without the help of the electric wheel - it requires no experience or technical skills, just an openness for play and creative expression! During a 1.5-2 hour workshop, you and your guests will learn the basics of handbuilding while also creating and decorating an item from a humble ball of clay. 

How it works: 

During: We will provide all the materials and expertise! 

After: After the workshop, we will take the pieces made during the workshop back to be fired in the kiln. The pieces will be bisque fired, glazed with a transparent glaze (this is what will seal the clay and make it food/drink safe) and then returned to its maker! We can organize for pickup/delivery across the UAE. Please note that the firing and glazing process will take 3-4 weeks from the date of the workshop. 

Pottery Painting (Bisque Painting):

Unlike your conventional pottery painting, we can customize an item for you specifically! Whether that’s form or design (logos, phrases, etc.) for yourself and your guests to paint with underglazes. This workshop is typically 1-2 hours long depending on the item of your choice and size of your group. 

During: We will provide all the materials (the agreed upon bisqueware pieces, underglaze paints, brushes, table coverings) 

After: We’ll take the pieces back with us to be glazed with a glossy coat and then fired in the kiln. This process will take about 1-2 weeks from the date of the workshop and is necessary for food/drink safety. 

If you prefer your guests take their pieces home the day of the workshop we can provide acrylic paints and a sealant for them to paint onto their pieces, but please note that this will not be as durable as ceramic paint/glaze and will NOT be food/drink safe. We are not liable for any harm this may cause.
